Good Night and Good Luck trailer
This is the new film by George Clooney, and it looks good. It gets automatic bonus points for being shot in black and white too. The trailer reminds me of The Insider, one of my favorite films. It should be interesting to see how Clooney's sophmore effort at director turns out. I wasn't the biggest fan of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind but did like parts of it. Perhaps it's time to revisit that film. I know there were people that just assumed Steven Soderbergh was leaning over his shoulder the whole film giving him tips and cues on where to point the camera and how to shoot the film but I don't think this was case. Looking at this trailer further reinforces this point.

Plot: Broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow (Strathairn) looks to bring down Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Trailer: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/good...dgoodluck.html

Amusing Tidbit from the IMBD: Director/star George Clooney had said they opted to use archive footage of Joseph McCarthy instead of using an actor to portray the senator. Clooney had said that when the movie had undergone test screenings, audience members felt that the McCarthy character was overacting a bit, not realizing that it was the actual McCarthy through archive footage.

Re: Good Night and Good Luck trailer
I can't help but think that the relevance of this film will be over the heads of most Americans, who will likely leave the theater thinking "*Whew*, what a thrill! Thankfully we don't live in a country like that anymore..."

Still, I guess it's better than the next 'I Was a Genius Boxer Invalid Who Saved the World' type movie starring Russell Crowe and/or any comedic actor gone "serious."

Thanks for posting, though

jajaja!! Well i came out last froday from the threater thinking "shit!! this is exactly what is going on up there now!!!"
The subject of represion for the sake of security is so accurate now.

Im always so sceptic of watching films that go to the Oscars which is wrong, because i should seen this movie way before, because is so relevant for this times and because it's good!!... Never imagined Clooney can direct something like this.. watching 2 hours broadcast news and journalist doing they job could seem something simple or boring.. and he did in such an interesting way.

The look of the movie is top notch. Black and white makes all soo much better ... but the whole ambience of the era and the performance is so classic. The actor that plays Murrow was such a delight all over the movie.
