How is the status on the JAL to Tokyo EP?
Any higher-quality-DRM-free-iTunes-version planned? Or a release on underworldlive.com?
I'm sure that many people who avoid DRM/iTunes like the plague (like me) will consider buying the EP then. Oh, just another question to those who have bought it: Do yo get high resolution artwork in addition to the music files? Also, do you think it would be crazy to pay nearly 10€ for a higher-than-the-3voor12-broadcast-quality 20 minutes APFC and a non-mixed Food a Ready (as I have both JAL+remix)? I have a strange feeling that i know the answer already.

i'm not buying anything on iTunes. i don't love buying stuff off underworldlive, but i do it cos it's the only way. i wish they'd release an actual EP, like a CD or a vinyl record.

Re: How is the status on the JAL to Tokyo EP?
They released a bunch of vinyl last year under their own "underworldlive.com" label...
Some of the posts on uwlive.com have mentioned Steve from JBO...maybe they have/will reup(ed) their contract there.

Re: How is the status on the JAL to Tokyo EP?
well the vinyl released 12" set came through co-oridination via Steve at JBO, just using the 'Underworld' label instead of JBO, but it was most likely that Steve arranged the vinyl release in reality...because he knows how to do such things...
expect the new stuff on the same label really... and hence probably a reason why there is no set official release date yet, because' official' record companies demand such things but if your running the show yourself you can just put shit out when you like... (kind of)

Quote:
Unfortunately, iTunes Plus is only available for music on EMI labels, which appears to not be Underworld. It's up to the labels to agree to allow Apple to release DRM-free tracks (EMI was the first to step up to the plate), so I'm not sure how that works for Underworld, or JAL to Tokyo in particular. The cover artwork is not terribly high resolution. Pretty much this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:U...ALepitunes.jpg |

Re: How is the status on the JAL to Tokyo EP?
only EMI from the major labels but i'm sure most indie labels will start jumping at this as many have wanted this for a while...
anyways, i definatly avoid itunes tracks so far, will consider it at 256, but even then i'd prefer to just get the cd for real quality. however cd purchasing makes me feel bad because of all the inherent wastes involved in manufacturing and shipping. |
