Mythmaker
Skinny Puppy avail. for all today.
iTunes have remixes I have not seen anywhere else that are satisfying after first listen. Running times a bit off from what's listed, but who's counting? 3 bones well spent for these [clean]{WTF?} versions.

Re: Mythmaker
I've been waiting till the official release date to talk about this album.
My two favorite bands are Puppy and, of course, Underworld. I like the new influences and the glitchy feel of a lot of the tracks. I'm glad to hear them taking another step forward and this is without a doubt not repeat of any previous Skinny Puppy. I doubt I'll be hearing these tracks in the weekly playlist of the local goth/futurepop DJs. The remixes are from the vinyl LP, check out www.litany.net for details. I haven't heard them yet, are they good? If you've never been to litany.net before they're doing a very cool thing latley where someone from the band highlights a song (either Puppy or Download) and says a little about it. Very cool. Oh and I can't wait for the new Download EP too!

Re: Mythmaker
I've been listening to Mythmaker pretty consistently for the last few days. I love it: every time I put it on, it sucks me in to the extent that I can't really concentrate on anything else except the music. I haven't been this obsessed about one music release since, I don't know, my late teens/early 20s when I was absorbing the Orb.
Track 5, Jaher, is my favorite so far, but each track has something special. |
