Little Children

This is the new film by writer/director Todd Field. He's previous film was In the Bedroom. It came out about 3-4 years ago.

The trailer for Little Children is quite slick.

What drew my attention to this was the film it's an adaptation of the novel by Tom Perrotta. Perrotta happens to be one of my favorite contemporary writers today and is also responsible for the novel Election, which Alexander Payne crafted into a magnificient film. If one were go back to the novel and read it, it's literally the screenplay, transplanted from New Jersey, Perrotta's stomping ground and moved to Payne-land of Ohmaha.

Anyways, this trailer, or rather teaser is quite an interesting little promotional piece that makes it's point that this film is emotional. What I wonder is if the film will have some of the humor that is pervasive throughout the entire novel. Hopefully with Perrotta co-authoring the screenplay with Field, the humor will make it through.

Reviving a post from months past.

Anyone seen this yet?

I know it's in limited release at the moment in NY/LA.

Portland being a second/third tier release city means I won't be seeing it until next Friday at least.
