Set up 10 years ago as a parody for the Oscars and other (local dutch) prizes, the Golden Gardengnome became a serious price giving with a real voting in the years to follow, held by DJ-fanclub. (sorry text in dutch only)

Let me add that although the whole affair is perhaps a parody, the prizes themselves are well-intended.

EDIT: and this year was the last edition of the awards!

Yeah, I suppose that that one is tongue in cheek. I believe that Tiesto got that award some of the earlier editions too, but he was never able to pick one up (with him always touring the world).

i was thinking more along the lines of Kypski (from C-Mon & Kypski), Nuno dos Santos and Lady Aida there lloyd! Of course there are other names but these three have never failed to impress. Michel de Hey can go fuck himself. Or maybe he can go and fuck DJ Jean.

You've got to be kidding! I saw Kraak & Smaak last saturday, they were pretty cool.

I also saw Lady Aïda last saturday, she was pretty good, although I was really tired when she was on. She played Humanoid Stakker and Cowgirl by Underworld though!
