southern kosher christmas success!
OK, so i didn't get to do a kosher thanksgiving, because my family got invited to a thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's house. but, i did get to make a (non-religious for me) full christmas dinner, kosher all the way. it took me two days but i had a great time. nothing burned or caught on fire, but the drainpipe in the left side of the kitchen sink detached and began spilling water under the sink. ah, such is life.
my fantastic menu was: -roast turkey w/ rosemary and thyme -epical cornbread dressing featuring sage and majoram -gravy made from neck (was going to use giblets, but they weren't included— if the giblets are bruised or contain a lot of blood they can't be koshered) -fried okra -fried cornbread -sweet potato souffle with marshmallows -pumpkin spice cake yay! |
