The BigScreenSatellite is back!

As most of you veteran dirts will know, one of the oldest and most thorough sources of all things Underworld and Junior Boys Own back in the day was the legendary site at www.bigscreensatellite.co.uk Unfortunately in 2008 the domain wasnt renewed fast enough and some unscrupulous domainsquatter/domainparking weasel registered the domain where it has laid dormant advertising beds and rabbit nets!

Well, now the site content has been rescued, a new domain registered and its back in its former HTML only glory at www.bigscreensatellite.com. Its a bit basic but all the old info is there and its still a gold mine for Underworld info from Freur to Underworld Mk1 thru to post-AHDO activity. Matt says the site will be updated (but dont hold your breath). The good news is that its back online.

I think its great how the whole site uses one picture for the lads haha

Well, thank to me and fellow dirt, polar action its now been rehosted. At the moment, all the text is mingled in with the formatting but I hope it will be separated so that the content is more manageable and the use of CSS can be made.

I remember hitting this site up for photos... i'd enjoy a peaceful hour waiting for the Horde FTP to finish my daily bootleg download, then i'd cook up some cover art!

Ah, to be a young, new fan when everything's new.



p.s. i miss the horde. The tracker's okay, but not very current on the audio front.

in the meantime before i bother to update the site, (it'll still be up before UW's shop opens i reckon....), i have uploaded a few more articles scanned from originals to my flickr page

the first lot here are for those technophobes, wanting info on equipment, two articles one from Future Music and one from Sound on Sound detail the UW set up: here

the other 'new' articles have been added to the general images i have on my flickr uw section, feel free to browse and grab any images you like - after all they are mine


the main theme of the recent uploaded articles is Karl Hyde in stripey tops circa 94/5, plus the odd picture featuring all three members in stripes - oh the headaches!
