if...
My local video store has a nice "Cult" section where I found this (I'm talking about the 1968 film directed by Lindsay Anderson).

I have never seen a movie with this kind of tension, this kind of psyche. Its absolutely brilliant what Lindsay was able to capture here.

If you're a fan of watching the absurdity of prep school and the consequences that follow, please watch this movie you won't be disappointed.

Re: if...
Best ending to a film ever?

Also infinitely quotable ("Run! Run in the corridor!")

Apparently once McDowell had been hired for Clockwork Orange Kubrick paused the film at the caning scene (just as he grins when he walks in the gym) and said, "That's how you play Alex." Years later McDowell refused to record a commentary track for Orange until Paramount first released if.... on DVD. Lovely if true.

Sequels are also essential. Orbital's "Forever" samples solved!
