need help with FINAL CUT!!!!
Ok - so here's the deal...

I'm currently applying to grad schools to get my MFA in printmaking.

as a part of my portfolio, I want to include documentation of an installation piece I did back in like... 2006/07.

- now here's the problem -

So I have a dvd that has a short video of that installation piece, but it's been so long since I've last used Final Cut (or any video/dvd editing software) that I actually forget how to take this short clip off my disc, and make it into a quicktime file

can anyone help me out?

Use Handbrake. It's free and easy.

Yup, BLD's right. Final Cut Pro would be the wrong tool for the job. The right tool is any DVD-ripping software, and Handbrake is a good one.

MPEG Streamclip is another good free tool to do this.
