I think it was meant to be a different character, just a weird bit of casting. Unless they wanted to claim "Features the one who told Denise Richards what to do then got crushed by the big door when the bugs ATTACKED!".
That is what I was just thinking. Didn't she get crushed by the door and then gives some words of wisdom to Denise Richards as she gurgled blood and died.

Re: Doom Trailer!
man, this movie is gonna be crap... I think they have a sort of formulaic "violent video game movie" script in a drawer somewhere that they pull out every time they go make a movie like Doom or Resident Evil. It has most of the plot filled in already and just leaves some blank lines here and there to fill in stupid character names and type of monster, that sort of thing. And yeah, weren't the scientist supposed to open a portal to actual hell, which spawned all the monsters? Now it's a human genome project? Why?
The 1st person shots look cool yeah, but then I'd rather play the game than watch the movie. At least the game has only the 1st person shot and none of the stupid plot.

I can't believe Uwe Boll is actually turning out to be influential.

Yep, the UAC scientists open a portal to hell. It's been changed to human genome bullshit because the US film studios are a bunch of pussies

Maybe that's why he's building spaceships now, so he can escape the wrath of angry geeks

Re: Doom Trailer!
Clint Mansell is scoring this movie don't you know. Alas, that won't help make the film any good.

We, the gaming community of the world, need to stand up and be counted. We're not stupid, and we're not all geeky losers. We need more respect to be paid to the base material, themes and stories of our precious videogame heritage. I'm sure there are good films to be made from videogame stories. Having said that, there is a Silent Hill movie on the way. Names touted to be involved are Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean in the lead roles, whilst Christopher Gans is directing and Roger Avary penned the script. Am I wrong to be slightly optimistic about this one?
