Re: recent purchases, downloads, etc.
Burial - Untrue (pretty good for the genre, but I am not a big fan of the genre. 3.5/5)
Midnight Juggernaut - Dystopia (hard to describe indie/electronic group... 4/5)
The Roots - Rising Down (probably their most well-rounded album since 2002's Phrenology 4/5)
J Dilla - Donuts (final album consisting of Jay Dee's trademark indie hip-hop beats 4.5/5)
UGK - Super Tight (purchased just to finish discography, better than debut + arrival of personal style 4/5)
Juno Reactor - Gods & Monsters (good for a few listens, mostly down-tempo or uneventful fast tracks. interesting, but not great 2.5/5)

waiting for:
Three 6 Mafia - Last 2 Walk
Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III
UGK - Still Kingz

How does 808 State's first album compare to the second and third? I've not been able to get my hands on it yet.

Re: recent purchases, downloads, etc.
Found a couple quality free downloads today:

Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting (Karl Moestl Extended Dub Version) (download the track from the music player)

...and...

Bomb The Bass - Fuzzbox feat. Jon Spencer, from his upcoming album "Future Chaos".

Both are fantastic tracks.

Wow. I really like both Rising Down and Phrenology, but I don't think either are nearly as good as their previous albumn "game theory". That albumn is 5 star track after another...

I have got a few new downloads/possible preview albumns:

Studio - Yearbook 2 - Haven't listened to it as much as their first yet, but it is VERY promising...

Subtle - Exiting Arm - Such a glorious mess of genres and styles, it just works well

tricky - knowle west boy - I am a tricky fan and am really enjoying this one.

Studio - Yearbook 2

Got this yesterday and have given it a few listens. It's remixes and the like, but still quite nice. The the track Brown Piano has been receiving a lot of play from me.
