hey all,

does anyone know what kind of vocoder underworld uses on karl hyde's lyrics? its an amazing sound!

actually, i'm pretty sure he built the one he uses with the guitar...juanita etc. i bet he's got lots of differrent kinds...including the roland.

Ditto on the vp330. Fairly distinctive sound when used with the built-in string sound. Check out Sound on Sound. There is also an interview from Future Music that goes into a bit more detail about the mods to Karls guitar. As I recall they are pretty much limited to MIDI translation/control additions.
