Re: Underworld visits ATL
We should do something fun for this show, like when TheBang held up his banner in NYC. I just think it'd be great if the boys looked out after the show and saw like a dozen people holding up signs that say "woof" haha

Re: Underworld visits ATL
long-time lurker...first time posting. (even though i've been registered for nearly a year)
i cannot tell you how excited i am to be seeing u/w in atl. an easy 2 hour (125 mile) drive from my house. was going to fly out to red rocks, but couldn't afford it and was crushed. now this atl gig comes up - how amazing. i've been to 1 concert at this venue and it is an amazing place. the location is okay (not too close to many restaurants/bars), but the actual venue is awesome. http://www.centerstage-atlanta.com/ it should be an amazing time. not sure about making it for a meet-up. depends what time the wife and i get off work and get down there. i'll go back to lurking now...

Re: Underworld visits ATL
so this morning i got off the train and decided to walk down to w. peachtree and 17th to see how far it would be. it was so damn close that i could stand on the corner and look one way to see the venue, and look the other way and still see the train station. it was so close that i turned around and walked back the other way and still made it to work on time.
i would highly recommend that anyone coming in from out of town consider taking the train into the show and not bothering with the hassle of parking. |

Re: Underworld visits ATL
I too would suggest taking marta to the show. For those of you planning on going to the Spotted Dog before or after the show marta's North Avenue station is right next door (literally), two stops down from the Arts Center Station.
For those of you travelling in town, there is a small cluster of hotels near the Midtown & North Avenue stations. |

Re: Underworld visits ATL
that's because their user interface sucks. notice that they have TWO stations listed with the abbreviation "NOR." because that makes total sense.
you're probably looking at the north springs schedule, which is why you're seeing the service stop.this is going to be way too much information, but here we go: here's the deal: there are two north/south lines. north springs and doraville. the doraville and north springs line are identical right up to lindburgh station, where they split like a Y. get on the right train and you don't have to transfer. however, after 9:30 trains stop going all the way from the airport to north springs. after 9:30 if you're south of lindburgh and want to head northwest, you have to catch a doraville train and switch at lindburgh center (the very next stop) to transfer to a north springs train. travel on from there. but basically if you're going to get a hotel around midtown station or north avenue station, you're travelling south and the service switch doesn't affect you one bit. every southbound train coming through that station goes where you want to go, up until around 1:30 a.m. if you're travelling north after the show, you'll have to hop on a northbound doraville train. then either transfer at lindburgh to head northwest or stay on the doraville train to head northeast. here's the doraville schedule so you can see what i mean. |

Re: Underworld visits ATL
I actually found a few hotels that are (supposedly) within walking distance of the venue. Those were about $129 total for one night. Would the hotels near the station really be much cheaper?

Re: Underworld visits ATL
LOL, thanks cacophony. I get it now...
(I was indeed looking at the North Springs schedule.)So it seems you can still get anywhere you need to go up until 1:30 or so. gillenium: yeah I was looking at those hotels too... walking distance would be quite nice. |
