Re: second toughest
my favourite track is "Air Towel", I listened in "loop" even yesterday evening. So powerfull, precious, romantic and so bright. No words for explains it.

But... My favourite "disc" of underworld is Pearl's girl, the ep. No words for explains it. The most beautiful sound ever made. just it. How to reduce in some words, a disc which accompanies me and influences me from now on + 10 years....

Air Towel is amazing. the vocals are sweet and there are some nice percussion sounds.

The Pearl's Girl EP is indeed a beautiful piece of work. I only recently realised that Mosiac is one of the most magnificant songs I've ever heard. Such different influences combined in a song which has a fast tempo, but still is very chill out.

Re: second toughest
i don't like most of 'second toughest'. it's probably my least favourite UW album, besides 'underneath the radar' and 'change the weather' which are totally different things.

pearl's girl is okay i guess. rowla is annoying. confusion the waitress is like a bad depeche mode song. air towel/blueski puts me to sleep. stagger is good. banstyle/sappys curry is good. juanita/kiteless/to dream of love is good.

my favourite UW album is dubno. behind that there's beaucoup fish and a hundred days off. they compete.

i like a lot of non-album UW stuff too, you could make an album out of those and it'd be better than STITI.

1. Spikee
2. The Hump
3. Cherry Pie
4. Oich Oich
5. Headset
6. Born Slippy (Original)
7. Eclipse
8. Minneapolis - Minneapolis Airwaves
9. 8 Ball

This album holds a special place in my heart. It's the first album that I've owned of their's. Juanita/Kiteless/To Dream of Love owns. I was converted to techno and other non-mainstream music by that song alone.

This album holds a special place in my heart also, altho it was my 2nd u/w album. I had bought Beaucoup Fish when it was released, and then a couple of months later my Mum's appendix (@76!) went Pete Tong and she was rushed to hospital. After a week of visits and ups and downs I was totally frazzled with worry and requested a couple of days off work just to chill. On the Friday I went to Cheltenham (a lovely sedate town, should you care to visit) and bought 2nd Toughest, with the bonus cd containing BS/Nuxx and Rez. Played it that eve quite late, and I was away on the space shuttle! The utter beauty of Janitta/Kiteless/To Dream of Love with the closing lines "..and blue..and blue" reflecting the gorg artwork of the cover, and then Pearls Girl...well, what can I say?? All my pent up worry/emotion of the previous week was just blasted out of me in its sheer energising jet stream. I think of this track virtually every day.
