2007 Genesis Remixes? What have I missed?
Someone mentioned these in another thread and I couldn't find any info about it.

So I was wondering what that was about and what else I've missed. I haven't been around here in a while. |

Re: 2007 Genesis Remixes? What have I missed?
They've remixed in surround sound and stereo the "middle" Genesis albums, namely, A Trick Of The Tail, Wind & Wuthering, ...And Then There Were Three..., Duke, and Abacab. In Europe it's being sold as SACD/DVD with PAL or NTSC, and in the US, it's CD+DVD, much like the depeche mode remixes.
All the albums have improved artwork and come with a bonus DVD with extras like concert footage and TV documentaries and such. However, the CD stereo mix has been critisised because of the excessive compression and loudness applied in the mastering process. No one has complained about the 5.1 surround sound mixes, though. Oh yes, and you can also buy them in a limited edition box set called 1976-1982 that has all five of those albums, plus a disc of 13 B sides and a booklet. http://genesis-box.com/ http://www.genesis-news.com/genesis/reviews/sacds/ The next box-set is going to be 'Genesis', 'Invisible Touch', 'We Can't Dance', and 'Calling All Stations' (which i will not be buying). The last box set, scheduled for late 2007/early 2008 is the Peter Gabriel Genesis albums, the one everyone's waiting for: Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. Sadly, the last box set won't include 'From Genesis To Revelation' because Jonathan King owns the rights to that album. but the fact that you posted this thread in this forum gives me the idea that you're thinking about something different.
