Re: "Official" lyrics wrong?
check out the "official" lyrics for Moby's 'Honey'.
Get my honey come back, sometimes, I wanna rap like that, sometimes, I get a hump in my back, sometimes, I'm going over here, sometimes. ...Wow. Yahoo! has finally come through and told us the REAL lyrics of that song. Thank goodness. You know when those lyrics were recorded, right? They were recorded in the 1920s and 1930s by a man named Alan Lomax. He travelled all over the South and interviewed the last of the former slaves, and recorded the slave songs they remembered. I'm absolutely certain that slaves in 1855 were just dying to be set free so they could rap just like M.C. Hammer. In fact, let's listen to the original recording, with no music: http://www.geocities.com/bryantm3/Sometimes.mp3 It's not exactly clear what she's saying, it's either "I want him right back, jack" or "I'm gonna rap that jack (ie: in the head)", but "I wanna rap like that"? I haven't even heard or seen that interpretation ANYWHERE. You'd have to be a retard to even think that a possibility if you know anything about the damned song. It pisses me off that Yahoo! can just make up their own lyrics and stick "official" on them, and think they're the shit. What a bunch of assholes. And their music video website sucks, too.
