DJ Shadow - The Outsider
This album is terrible. The music is 85% garbage bag and the guest appearances (mainly rappers) are 100% wack. What happened to this guy?

Re: DJ Shadow - The Outsider
I haven't heard the album, but, I would guess:

a) He had a bag of tricks.

b) He exhausted it.

Re: DJ Shadow - The Outsider
I've had a promo copy of the album for like... at least a couple of weeks, if not at least 2months

although, I haven't listened to it for a little while, I try and wait till the album comes out at least

it's not that it's necessarily a bad album but ...it's just sooo average. Even the tracks that are more in his older style sound more like someone trying to copy "the dj shadow sound" instead of it actually being him

...and it's not just b/c of the hyphy tracks

and I actually like "Seein' Thangs"

Re: DJ Shadow - The Outsider
yup. i think it's terrible too. there are a few good songs though. my favs are track 2, the broken levee blues and the one with q-tip as a guest rapper. i just like q-tip though

anyhow, i think it was his first overall disapointing piece of work. i quite enjoyed even his last albumn

Re: DJ Shadow - The Outsider
this album owes me over 60MB's! Shadow is a piece of shit and has been since about 6months after Endtroducing came out. I've seen him twice and walked out twice, and i loved Endtroducing. what a giant sack of shit. Dj Krush is the king! Long Live Krush.

Re: DJ Shadow - The Outsider

Re: DJ Shadow - The Outsider
The David Banner cut is satisfyingly mediocre and is therefore probably the best cut on the album...

I agree w/ joethelion's comments re: Shadow ripping off (i.e., watering down) his own sound... and I also concur w/ BrotherLovesDub...long live DJ Krush!
