Tom Waits to tour again (short list though)
I came across this in the Times today and I found Mr. Waits quote quite amusing.
The singer-songwriter Tom Waits is hitting the road, Billboard.com reported. On Aug. 1 in Atlanta, Mr. Waits, who rarely gives live performances these days, will embark on an eight-date tour that will also take him to Asheville, N.C. (Aug. 2), Memphis (Aug. 4), Nashville (Aug. 5), Louisville, Ky. (Aug. 7), Chicago (Aug. 9), Detroit (Aug. 11) and Akron, Ohio (Aug. 13). In a statement about his motivation, he said, "We need to go to Tennessee to pick up some fireworks, and someone owes me money in Kentucky." If only he would venture a little further West for some west coast dates I would be happy. Even a Seattle date or Vancouver date. He can get decent fireworks in Washington too. |

Wasted and wounded, it's not what the moon did...
Boyohboyohboy! This would be awesome. Shame I am the wrong side of the pond. Dunno about Stateside, but Tom Waits was the awesomely trendy person for 80s intellectuals (did I miss out the word pseudo?) here, along with Keith Jarrett. Always loved him. Always will.
