Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
whoever is responsible for the encoding of the vids: these zurich vids are suffering a lot of artifacts in the video and skipping in the audio on my computer. You might want to check that.

Note that there are 5 new audio tracks for Sophia, so that show is now complete.

What a nice surprise! And the Misterons Mix is but a week away!

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
A little bit of "I Love You Because" by Leon Payne at the beginning of Jumbo, although it's not exactly the right lyrics.

Has anyone else noticed that the Sofia show is 128kbps/48kHz and the Benicassim is 128kbps/44.1kHz? Just a thought.

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
The Nu Train video from Zurich hasn't been properly flattened. It contains a reference to an external MP3 file, so it does not open correctly.

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
hmmm, seriously, the people encoding this stuff need to get their act together. I mean of course it's free and all but it would be nice to have some consistency and for things to actually work properly.

I'll happily do it for you, UW team

(btw. the nutrain video plays normally here, except for the skipping audio and video artifacts)

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
It surprises me that noone seems to notice those ugly gaps between tracks caused by the inferior MP3 codec they use (itunes?).
The Blue Mountain gig is a good example for this. The track transition are completely screwed up. Switching to something better would also improve the perceived quality noticably.
I suggest the LAME codec, which proved to be the best MP3 codec available. (something like 'lame -V5 --vbr-new [input] [output]' would do what they want --> ~130 kbps). A mac version is available, too. With a gapless player like foobar2000 or winamp, there will be no gaps anymore!
For the Riverruns, they could reencode their material with '-V2 --vbr-new', which gives about 190-200 kbps on most material (it is VBR). People moaning about the quality of the Riverruns should be satisfied with that.

For videos, i recommend x264, which is considered to be the best video codec so far. In combination with the easy to use GUI MeGUI and the free Nero AAC encoder, this thing is better than everything else. 160x120 at 10 fps hurts my eyes! IMO 320x240 at 25 fps without much artifacts plus good sound quality should be easily possible.
