Re: Always Loved a Film
both always loved a film (have only heard the one from about a year ago on a dirty radio show) and you do scribble have to be my favorite underworld tracks since luetin ( i know i know, that isn't too long), but they might be even my favorite since stiti once i hear the final albumn versions...

Re: Always Loved a Film
Maybe I should hear Scribble more but, I very much like the beat, but think that the sounds are just random keyboard hitting. I'll get flamed for this, I predict But I'll go listen to it more then.

Consider yourself well and truly flamed, young man.

Random keyboard hitting?!!! Call yourself a musician??!!!!!!!

Re: Always Loved a Film
This is probably another minority opinion, but personally I don't think that You Do Scribble should be released. The version from the Exit Festival is, in my mind, perfect, and I have been let down by every other version I have heard of it. I just don't see how they could do any better than what we already have.

Leon, if you can make sounds like that from random keyboard hitting, you have a strong career in music ahead of you!

what a pity that this version doesn't have the awesome lyrics Karl added later... but honestly i think this version sounds only so 'hot' because it went through a BBC compressor and some filters. My favourite is Tokyo, simply because it's on CD and has the best sound quality so far.
I wonder how the sophia and benicassim versions will come out. The first few tracks they released on the archive sound really great.

My guess for RR3: 5 points, that HMH opening track and ALAF. (of course not all of those)

Re: Always Loved a Film
i like the new version better except for the lyrics. they don't seem to fit and make me feel uncomfortable for some reason.

this is what i can hear in the lyrics:

becky is a doll..... weekend
fingers in her hair
watching her reflection

these are the ?
that live in the cracks
these are the rails at the edge of the woods

and the grey
fall away

becky is a doll
and i'm a big sister
i'm a little girl
and i'm a big princess

these are the ?
that live in the cracks
and these are the rails at the edge of the woods

and the grey
fall away

(sped up lyrics and jibber-jabber)

stay
program
confession

Re: Always Loved a Film
I hear something like this:
these are the weeds that live in the cracks
these are the rails at the edge of the world

...

and i pray
for rain
I like this part, but the whole "I'm a princess" thing is lost on me, and makes me a little uncomfortable too.

Re: Always Loved a Film
I kinda like the way he sings the lyrics. Although I have the feeling he kinda improvised it, I don't know.
