Re: Comsat Angels and Wire get reissued
interested in the wire re-issues... they're re-releasing remasters of all three emi wire releases (there's a box set soon, with 2 extra live cds), 'pink flag' is my least favorite of them (although it's a still a great album).
i'd be more enthusuastic right now but i've just read the news that grant mclennan of the go-betweens (one of my other favorite bands of all time) died in his sleep last night. |

Re: Comsat Angels and Wire get reissued
I though the Comsat Angels albums had already been re-released on Renascent records with loads of demo tracks and b-sides as bonus tracks. The three early 80s albums are just fantastic. Totally underrated band from my childhood getting overlooked. I guess at the time Sheffield was more obsessed with Cabaret Voltaire, The Human League, Heaven 17 and ABC. I remember UW playing a Comsat Angels track on one of their radio shows too.
As for Wire, the 1st three albums have been issued on a box set before all with extra tracks but I dont know what they have planned for this reissue. Check Amazon.com for details.

Re: Comsat Angels and Wire get reissued
... this time they're remastered by the guy that does all the swim stuff. the two extra cd's are 1) 2 live sets from the roxy before 'pink flag' and 2) a live set from cbgb's around the time of 'chairs missing', haven't heard those yet but the remasters sound fantastic. there's also a 60-page booklet (sleeve notes written by colin newman). it's not cheap ($100) but it's worth it.
