Sounds cool, Leon...thanks for getting this moving!

A couple questions though: what would be the preferred format/bitrate for these? Any file size or length limitations? i mean, they could always be edited later to fit on a disc, but in the meantime, what would work best as to not overflow your inbox and keep the submissions consistent in terms of quality?

Thanks,
Holden

Good question. I myself always listen to music at 192 bitrate, as it's good quality and the file size is not too big. I also think it's reasonable for downloaders who haven't got a fast internet connection. If someone has a better idea, it's welcome.
It doesn't matter for my inbox though, I believe gmail can hold quite some MB's.

Re: Dirty summer contest/compilation?
What are the odds that we could actually bump the deadline to June 1st? Not that May 21st is a complete spoiler for me but my shop is going to be slammed with spring baseball orders until about the 2nd week of May and the extra ten days would give me time to just make sure that the track is sounding as briht as it can.

If that doesn't work I'll do what I can.

Sure man, like I said, I try to get the ball rolling so I just picked a date.

But June 1st is fine to me

And I'll probably enter with 2 songs, heh.

Can we do that???? I logged on for the express purpose of saying that I started and pretty much completed a track last night, so May 21st was going to be fine. If we can enter 2 tracks though...

Oh, and Ableton Live 5 is the shit. It's hands down the best software I've ever used... once you get down a couple of basics it's very easy to start crafting tracks, and in record time. The only thing that I need to figure out is how to render out my clips to wav format so I can just mix the wavs instead of the actual midi data, with the VST running and effects. If I don't start doing that I'm eventually going to get to a point to where I start taxing my computer...

Cadevil
Carp Dreamer
Drix (maybe)
Future Proof
Holden
King Of Snake
Leon
Renze

And I know someone else who wanted to join but I'm not yet putting his name down here, I have to make sure he still wants to join.

Well like last time, there were a few people who threw in 2 songs I remember. And why not Of course it would be cool if the whole compilation would fit on 1 cd, but why not make a double
