Ok I've listened to this a few times now, and I think I stand by my initial reaction to it: It sucks. It just sounds like a big chaotic mess, and really does nothing at all for me. Overly complex, especially when compared to other Balitmore Club Tracks kind of stuff (incidentally, it took me a few listens to hear where the Baltimore comparisons came in). I don't like it at all Sorry guys.

What I do like, however: 'Lost Summer' by Baeks. I've had this one song on repeat for 45 minutes

yeah I don't get it either. mostly because I just don't particularly enjoy the vocals/rapping. the production is creative, but does nothing in contrast to the style of rapping for me, it just doesn't seem to gel into a good sound. I have the same complaint about the streets too, so say whatever about my opinion.

I'll agree with this. No matter how awesome any music is, if you don't like the vocals, it's just not going to work.

i considered it something i just wasn't accustomed to. after a time, and EVERYBODY else telling me the same thing (lol we should have an instrumentl) i not only got used to it, but it became damn essential to it, enhancing, even. trying to divorce the lyrics from the music, especially here, just seems wildly avoidant and sanitized. you can either take the whole bag or dont, but it becomes custom-made consumption when you try to seperate the two because it gets a little abrasive.

this is still going in my top 5. it's a mess, but a good one, a varied one, and on the attack.

Who said anything about divorcing the lyrics from the music? its my refusal to do so that makes this a diffucult listen sometimes. I'm not asking for Pavaroti, something that carries the mood and rhythm of the production in a voice that isn't itself abrasive is all I'm asking for. Understanding what I guess to be a clear attempt at recalling the styles of bygone chapters of hip hop helps me get into it a bit better.

Anyway Bump and IMC, and screwville, USA are very notable exceptions. They fuggin work.
