I like the "sound" of the guitar but the melody just really doesn't grab me. Could've been done much more with the sweet sounding sound. I must say that the very last note of Ess Gee makes the waiting for the next track much more exciting.

well its not a matter of hate, you have to think of it as people loving other stuff more...

i mean, is Ess Gee you're absolutely favoruite UW song...?

if not then you'd vote it off before you're favoruite...simple as that, if you like something least doesn't necessarily mean you hate it...

i'd certainly not say i hate ess gee, but i really don't like it anyway as much as so many other songs....some people may well hate it, but I think, its just comparissons against other songs...and it comes off worse.

Personally, i believe that there is a hard banging fanbase, who love the pumping dance tunes, and a soft more chilled fan base who prefer the mellower aspects of UW's sound...

i like both (but not equally, and i think most people are like that), i'd always go for the banging dance floor friendly sounds, as opposed to the quieter tunage, as that's kinda where i think UW started out...BS, Moaner, KOS, PU, TMO that kind of thing, but then again i can totally listen to the quieter UW moments as well, depends on my mood

Mmm... perhaps you should take it like "most of the community likes this song a bit less than the others"?...

hehe... or even "some of the community likes this song a bit less than some of the other songs"

It's alright... and I reckon it suits ADHO - especially with Trim. There are much worse UW tracks than Ess Gee.

In my opinion, when they started out they were doing a very creative and original combination of "banging dance floor friendly sounds" and more melodic styles, as opposed to only doing one or the other in any given track. Consider "Jam Scraper," for instance. It starts out slow and melancholy, then it gradually builds up to an awesome techno breakdown, and then it winds down to the same sort of slow contemplative feeling. Same with "Why Why Why?" On the other hand, "Dark Train" starts out minimalist but then adds the great keyboard melody. That was what I liked about them, they didn't just make dancefloor tunes or "chill-out" tunes or whatever, they made tracks that had forward movement and combined different feels.
