i am in south america travelling around (but in a small little surfing village for a bit) and they have an obsession with a type of music called reggaton, which is like a bad, really bad combo of dance hall, pop and hip hop. there is one song in particular that is getitng at me and it is called gasolina, and that is basically all they cry about the whole song! terrible i tell you!

anyone else know reggaton? some is actually kinda catchy for crap disco dancing...

reggaeton is terrible. its like a soulless version of dancehall with a childrens bontempi/casio drum beat that even ringo starr could master with a layer of unimaginative sexist rapping (usually in spanish or english). watch the dancefloor at a reggaeton disco and you'll see men holding onto women from behind looking like desperate dogs dry humping.

I feel you mate Reggaton fucking sucks and it's hyping like nothing else over here. Now, where I live (Purmerend), they only have bars and they REALLY suck. But suck even more with this type of music. There's actually a Dutch DJ that mixes "classics" (read: chartclassics UGH) with a reggaton - or what they call a "Bubbling" beat.
