Re: What about animes with mechs on them?
Appleseed is incredible, no? Check Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. In my opinion, that deserves the crown. I'ma buy it.

My video store has two Neon Genesis movies...can someone tell me what order to see them in when I'm done the series, so that I don't have to read the boxes and risk spoilers?

not the biggest anime fan, but i loved it as well.
i would like to get the whole series, but that runs about $150.

there's sellers giving it out for $40, but i smell something bad about that.

End of Evangelion is the second movie, and the two pretty much encapsulate the entire series (not in the greatest fashion, imo, and it can be a bit confusing at the end). Of course, if you have cable, you can always watch Neon Genesis Evangelion on Cartoon Network. For, y'know, free.

Same for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Great series. The new season (2nd Gig) is showing now on Saturdays.

I don't have cable. Television is the devil.

Nah, the people who produce television shows (well the majority of them) are the devil. Or devils. Like Rupert Murdoch. He's evil.

Sorry, are you saying that the movies are basically a re-make of the series? They aren't complimentary? Because I just finished the series, and I can't see where it could really go from here, but the box of one of the movies calls it the climax of the series...

Yeah, they're pretty much a remake. They recap most of what you've seen in the series and add new scenes into there, and they gave it a whole different ending from the tv series. It's even freakier! From what I understand, they ran out of money when they produced the final two episodes of the series, and the movies were their way of giving the fans the ending they wanted to produce. Trust me, it's worth the watch even if you've seen the series.
