Re: It's all back Pete Tong (new Underworld - Electronic Part One))

This will sound considerably richer and fuller, especially the bass. Much less tinnyness. As for my opinion on it, i like the groove and I think the bass will sound great on a pair of big speaker coming from a CD source. I already like the crazy chicken lyrics of JAL to tokyo/Bang the poll so thats all good. The vocoder, well, sure why not? Its not exactly Cher - Believe is it? (do you believe in life after love?) Anyway, I've just got the whole essential selection in 192kbps from a UK source so i'll get that to you asap. Watch this space.

Re: It's all back Pete Tong (new Underworld - Electronic Part One))
well done stimpee
i like this... nice groove and tonnes of lyrics. i think AHDO suffered a bit for a lack of Karls voice on it. lots of instrumentals & juanita on one. mo move only had 1 or 2 lines in it too i think. i reckon this new track has more vox than the whole of AHDO! karl's been writing again. lots. cant wait for a new album/project in whatever form that's gonna take. bring it on guys

btw, there was definitely a bit of this in the 1 1/2 seconds of new album bits from the Dirtyradio show.
(it's the 3rd sample)

Re: It's all back Pete Tong (new Underworld - Electronic Part One))
Might be just me, but I'm hearing multi layered vocal tracks (3-4). There's Karl with no effect, in sync with a high pitched vocoder, then a low pitched vocoder, and maybe even a third at some points when the beat gets thrown off course(LOVE IT!) here and there. Forgive me if I've used these terms incorrect(you die-hard techy-producers of the future), I'm not trained in music other than simply an appreciator of it.
Hearing from those commenting on a the vocoder being too heavy, just a suggestion for future listens. Don't think I've ever heard a track using this style of vocal/vocoder layering, if that's actually what I'm hearing (only two times, & I'm off to my third & fouth, this shit's like crack). Love the shit-talking Karl's throwing around, always wondered what his wicked side is like and his subtle/abstract way of doing so stays true to form. |
