So correct me if I'm wrong. They have recorded the FULL gig in pristine 1080p, perfect lossless stereo, top notch (live?) editing but we will ONLY get KOS because the crappy mono 64kbps AAC livestream KINDA work during the other tracks?

They better be kidding us.
Never mind that we lost half of Jumbo too. I think they did this just to troll Badger.

Ha, yeah, I compared this to the web feed, and it only gains us literally about 15 seconds of new footage. Most of the loss is from Jumbo.

I'm genuinely interested in what would be their reason to professionally record the whole concert and not give it a proper release afterwards?
Exclusive agreement with Facebook?

Don't they do this a lot, though? I'm sure the Carnival Experiment stuff was filmed too.

for the last few tours that i remember, they filmed every concert they played
live.

probably just to keep around in case they decide to release something in the
future.

but maybe just for their own archives.

Music DVD sales are quite pitifully small, to be honest.

but a small priced download on their store would work well me thinks....more bands should do that with their live recording, audio and video.

Amen to that. They even put out a little flashback teaser of the event just to play a bit with their fantastic rushes. A really pity we'll probably never see the rest of them...

And here's the thing...back in the old days ( talking about early to mid 00's), Underworld used to post a fair amount of live, exclusive tracks for free, some prior to official release. And, the LiveHereNow series from 2007+ was an amazing record of the evolving setlist and included some really great live versions of rarer tracks at a reasonable price.

Tomorrow I turn 38. The way we consume music has changed a lot in my time. Much as I pine for those olden times, I think at this point, we are lucky that Rick and Karl are still occasionally producing music. Maybe one day, they'll release the floodgates of their live archives. But as someone who has over 100 bootlegs, there's only so many surprises and different versions. How many times do you need to hear NUXX? Yeah, I love those rare deep tracks, but they're rarer still post 2010. I'd much rather have studio archives and unreleased tracks at this point.
