I'm seeing them live this thursday. will give the run-down on how they are sounding friday!
i was just revisiting Blazing Arrow about a week though... and am pretty accepting that the new one will not grab me like that one did. My hope is that it resonates more than 4th Dimensional Rocket Ships... Last edited by b.miller; 09-18-2005 at 09:41 PM. |

Re: [Heads-up] Blackalicious: The Craft -- Sept. 27th
the show: they were good but it was so (102 characters of filthy rotten curse words deleted) hot and the place was so (57 more characters of things kids and even young adults shouldn't read deleted) packed that i got that nice feeling of near-heat exhaustion when every follicle of hair on your head shivers at the same time. Anyway, what I caught was good even though I was fantasizing about returning to my car and just listening to their CDs with the air conditioning cranked and a bucket of water funneling down my gullet.
the new album: eh. my favorites are probably 'Powers' (track 4), 'Side to Side' (track 8), and 'Give It To You' (track 12) right now... it's definitely not as stylish and diverse in style.. the songs also sound much more static and less developed musically with more emphasis on lyrics (which is not really my thing). As usual though, hearing Lyrics Born pop up is a high point... not bad either though... just no Blazing Arrow
