Re: Underworld Fonts
i think the new font (same used in athens) is an abstraction of another font.
the 'g' and 'U' shapes are guidelines. try identifont (www.identifont.com). i believe it might be a classic roman, serif font.

Re: Underworld Fonts
You think it's a new stencil based on a non-stencil font? Maybe, but I couldn't quite come up with a match that way either. Closest I've found for non-stencil fonts is ShinnType Walburn Ultra, but R and S serifs aren't right, and the circles in the O and D are wrong.

Re: Underworld Fonts
and i want to be even more far-fetched: i think the font comes from a blackletter kind or even a relative of an old english.
but after trying to find the font last night i saw the shapes and they're totally roman fonts. emigre did a re-image of some clasic fonts too. it's not a uncommon thing to see in type foundries.
