Re: Good Day Today
as far as "in the studio on a song together" - no, I don't think so...
but - David Lynch did do the video for Moby's "Shot in the Back of the Head" and ... I think it was last year - or the year before it - David Lynch had a special day-long lecture series/ event out here near Iowa City (Fairfield, IA where the Maharishi University is) part of the event was a live concert with Moby. Donovan also played but I didn't get a chance to actually go oh wait - I was going to post up a clip of Lynch's "Ghost of Love" but I found this i guess they are collaborating... |

Quote:
Yeah, the practically invariant beat is very Moby, as is the need to vocode the heck outta his voice for it to sound cool. But i guess it's DL's voice (maybe?). IF it were a Moby track, there'd be the inevitable 4 chord string melody - it tugged at the heartstrings with "God Moving Across the Face of the Waters" in 1995 or whatever, but sheesh, he overuses the tinkly pianos and strings.

Re: David Lynch: Good Day Today
I miss the old days where Moby made tracks like "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters." That track is probably his peak moment to me; especially when you see it during the ending shot for the film Heat (don't get me started on that movie...so good). I even love his Animal Rights, which most people tend to pretend never happened. His newest album is good, but I don't know, it just doesn't have the same effect on me as his 90's material does. But in any case, "Good Day Today" reminds me of the good ol' 90's Moby and that's a good thing.
And that definitely sounds like DL's voice on the track. |
