Let me know if there are more. Also, to whom should I send the tracks when I'm done? Do you all want high quality mp3s, or waves? A zip file hosted somewhere? Let me know and I'll get them out pronto.

Nice tracks overall. The usual suspects here producing quality work. Again, I am truly impressed with Buji's work. Really nice vibe on the tunes.

Many thanks, Professor!

Maus, you around and still willing to host? Check in, brother!

As for format, i'd vote high quality mp3, just because of the size issue - 9 or 10 wavs for 4 minute songs might be pushing 500 MB. That's a hefty download regardless of connection speed.

I'm going to take the darktrain and underworld text off the cover art. Do you guys want a back cover with artist and track names?

Promotion ideas?

I'm still trying to get someone in to record a guitar solo for me, so I'm taking this thing as far out as I can go. I never really heard back as far as ifwe're delaying and what the new deadline would be. I've also got a 2nd song I could submit in place of the track I'd like to submit, if I can't make the deadline. But my most pressing issue is to make sure that I don't let this thing get by without making a submission of some kind, so will someone please give me some guidance and perhaps a deadline so this doesn't happen? Danka!

I vote high quality mp3 i think it will do the songs justice and not keep us waiting too long to download. Its also a huge help to whoever is hosting it on their server... 500+mbs can be a bit of a chunk out of your hard drive

Re: Dirty compilation 2009
Folks,

Here's the updated front cover.
Obviously, it'll be in higher resolution for download.

I just had a look at the series of compilations from these and related forums and what the were called:

2002/3: RTSR Power On
2003: dirty.org Underworld Remix Competiton
2005: Sounds for a dirty summer
2007: Dreamgirl, I'm Desperate for You (dirtyproducers song compilation)
2008: Evidence of Autumn (darktrain.org 2008 compilation)
2009: Sweet in Winter, Sweet In Rain (darksounds.org compilation 2009)

Nice to see that we're progressing through the seasons. As the previous two and this years' are hosted at darksounds.org, i guess it makes sense to drop the UW and dirty/darktrain labels.

Cheers,
Holden

p.s. let me know if you want a back cover with artist and track info.

Thanks for the work & words Professor!
Could you label my tracks as by 'The Explorers', it's a new project this one!

Also I agree with going with high quality mp3's for the download.

Artwork looks fine to me, a back cover or a piece with info would be cool.

In terms of promotion, If Maus can host it the same as last time we could write up a short but sweet press release/info about the comp with link to download/site that could be pasted into an email and then everybody could use the same email to send to places of there choice eg Online Zines, review blogs, labels, radio, fan sites etc
It's free so might get us some decent traffic!

Also would be cool to send an email to Underworld to see if Karl might give us a shout in the diary, you never know!

What's everyone reckon?

Sounds like a great plan... definitely send something to the boys at the lemon, even if it is a long shot we will never know if we dont at least try!

And once everyone has a press release it can then be sent to everyone we know as well as on facebook and twitter... through sites like that you can get in touch with so many people

Re: Dirty compilation 2009
not that it matters, but I'm not to crazy about the font either. Is there a way to make the whole thing simpler? No offense, and this is just one guy's opinion, but it looks a bit like hobby work. Sorry Holden.. I don't want to step on your toes, but I think it could look better with a little more effort and research.

but lately I'm a lurker, so what does it matter what I think.

let the firing squad commence.
