I have many of your tracks...however, the movers damaged my computer, and it is unusable at this time. I have another computer, but it will take time to get going. Will probably be next week before all is worked out.

That really sucks, is your own data okay shane? Can you recover it?

Re: Dirty compilation 2009
I haven't even turned it on yet. It can't be set upright, the bottom 'legs' of the mac tower are broken on one side at the base, so it sits lopsided. I'm afraid to let it sit like that for fear of the weight of it breaking the base off completely. I'm not sure how the insides took the impact, whatever it was that happened. The box looked fine, but you can see a big dent in the base of the chassis where it broke off. It clearly hit something pretty solid. I don't want to run it upside down; unless I can find some way to support one side of it, I probably won't turn it on. It was a corporate move, so the company will compensate me or replace the computer--it's just a pain. My data is on other hard drives, so not much lost there.... just a loss of time and inconvenience.

Shitter about the computer, good that you got your work backed up!

I don't think it matters if this is delayed by a week or two, I think we should aim to get it up online by the end of the month if possible, it's quite a relaxed deadline!

Holden:
I think that font looks better now, I was just thinking actually that because it's a nice picture we should maybe make the text slightly smaller so the picture stands out more, other than that I would be happy to go with it. Nice work.
Anyone else got any thoughts?

The art: I like the image, and its a good call about the size of the text..

For me, im not sure about mentioning 'Underworld Fan Site' on the cover, with all due respect for Underworld, i think it devalues the individual work that people have put in to the project.

I think 'darksounds.org project' is enough, it makes it sound credible and professional.

Re: Dirty compilation 2009
Ok, so these are the entries I have files for:

Elevator--Jeremy Dennis
Eponine's Walk
Quorum Sense (Early version)--Grandbrother
Melting in the Rain--Jeremy Dennis
Particle Generator
Icemelt--LX_Nen
Reality Check

If you don't see your submission, I've either lost it, or never got it. Please email me if you don't see your tune. Also, many of you sent songs, and the tags for the songs didn't show your artist name.

Please send like this: Artist_Name_Song_Title.Wave or . aiff, or .mp3 ... those who have already sent tracks, can you send me an email matching your name to your track.

Re: Dirty compilation 2009
I reckon I should have been more specific: many of you are using different sample rates and bit depths... PLEASE: 44.1/16bit wave file or aiff. not everyone can do 48/24, and I can't import different rates and wordlengths into the same playlist for mastering. If this isn't possible, I'll figure something out, but it won't be perfect. Waves sound better than mp3s, so please, for the love of fidelity, send wave/aiff.

thank you... over and out.

Hey Mike, i agree with what you're saying. I'm happy to change the text to whatever everyone's happy with.

The Underworld forum tag worked fine for a few year back then, but it's true, our productions areoften worlds away from what one might associate with UW.

But what i've also learned from netlabeling and forum-scouring -- there's way too much free music out there, much of it very high quality. That begs the question: How are we going to publicize/promote this year's darksounds.org compilation?

Re: Dirty compilation 2009
Update: I've got 9 total tracks, including two from Buji.--and I believe that I have matched the producers with the tracks-

Are there any more out there that I am waiting on?

What I did is basically put all the tracks through mild peak limiting. I didn't 'squash' them, but I did bring them all up to a common volume. Because of my own damaged computer issues, I don't have access to my usual workstation which has all my good EQs... so I didn't do any EQing--just the limiting. Most of the tracks didn't need much at all.

Let me know if there are more. Also, to whom should I send the tracks when I'm done? Do you all want high quality mp3s, or waves? A zip file hosted somewhere? Let me know and I'll get them out pronto.

Nice tracks overall. The usual suspects here producing quality work. Again, I am truly impressed with Buji's work. Really nice vibe on the tunes.
