But really, It's just like any other thing that's public. You see newscasters all the time trying to deliver a soundbite and people get behind him and start waving or goofing around. Some people goof off without remorse, some get WAY too serious and WAY too angry (I used to be that guy, on these very forums). Some use the computer screen as a way to live out fantasies and say things to people that they wouldn't have the heart to say to someone's face (also a couple here). And then there's the "balanced" minority who pretty much talk as they would in person, to a trusted friend.

Fighting the internet creeps who get their jollies out of acting socially obtuse is a losing battle, because the trolls feed off of the tears of the frustrated. Friendly advice -- use the ignore list or just scroll past the garbage you don't want to pay any mind to. There's no point in getting agitated by anything you see on the web though, it's just more stress and consternation, as if most people have room for more. I get a kick out of reading Trent Reznor's tweets -- he's always at war with some chromosonally-challenged twat and you can literally envision the veins popping out of his forehead.

EDIT: Should've put LSD as a poll option. Often times I think that when jOHN opens a thread, the letters start swimming and tiny leprechauns whisper rainbow-colored advice into his ear. :P
