Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to sign a six-year contract before being formally confirmed as a Real Madrid player on July 1. His salary will start at £9.5 million a year, rising 25 per cent annually to a staggering £29 million, or just over £557,500 a week, in the final year. He stands to earn up to £107 million.

surely he's not worth that much, then again Berbatov cost us £30.75m

has the recession not hit football?

Re: The 2009/10 season starts here
nice, up-to-date photo he used as well. 2 toon players who haven't been with us for months playing in a fixture you won't see published tomorrow. 'on the ball, brian...'

as for your recession question - ronaldo leaving you for £80m wasn't a dream, you realise?

he's charismatic and technical - what's not to want?

"I don't think Michael will go for the best financial offer" - more fool you...

Little Mickey was hardly thrilled when Sky Sports sprung the Hull idea on him, was he?

He's always conducted himself fairly well, is it wrong that I'm a bit disappointed with the brochure? Maybe this is normal practice and I'm fooling myself.

I still think him at Villa with Emile could work pretty well.
As long as Carew and Agbonlahor are still there for the real work, naturally.
