right, not in this case alone but, this is just one of many reasons why journalism as a whole is on the decline within the last several years (even with news networks like CNN). lots of inconsistencies, lack of due diligence, and quite often unreliable sources.

on a side note i was able to make it out to the gallery on thursday when spin was doing their interview w/karl... stay tuned for pics and words

Re: Beautiful Burnout - Art Jam, New York
since i intend to post some more interesting observations,
and details....i will posting in the 'process' forum, as i feel
thats a bit more appropriate....and i don't want to clutter
up this thread..

there are 3 types of information
-------------------------------------[public]-----------------
this is known information, such as the press conferences,
the artwork, the prints, etc..... i have no problem with
passing on this information....

============================[personal]============
well, this is a little bit more of information from my perspective,
and my thoughts about the events, and what happened etc..

still it won't be ALL the details, since i do prefer some privacy...

==============================[private]===========
this is stuff that was spoken to me by various members of the
group, the staff, and other tomato people, and i will not divulge
any of it, since it's really their information, and not mine...

it's not like i signed an NDA (non disclosure) or anything, but
how would you like it if, it personal information about you,
your projects, or anything else was given out, and shared
without your consent.....especially if it spoken in a shared
friendly manner?.............so you won't hear much about these,
or if you ask a question, i might politely decline it...

anyways, there's really a lot of cool stuff to look forward
to....i hope you check out the postings once i have them
ready......

later

Looks like there was some kind of mixer tonight. The webcam was going till 9:30 PM New York time, and there were lots of people there. Karl left at about 5:00 PM, but John was there till later, mingling.

Re: Beautiful Burnout - Art Jam, New York
I just got back home to Colorado. After spending 5 days in New York, the Art Jam was the highlight.

My wife & I were there Thursday night for quite a while. Meeting John W, Karl and Rick was fantastic. The gallery was amazing. The art was incredible. I drank too much wine and kept sneaking up to the roof to smoke.

Saturday we went back and hung out with John for over an hour while he painted his metal wall. Had some really great discussions about art. John was starting his "repairs" from the incident Thursday night. (Someone bumped into the wall and smeared everything. John wanted to kill him) He invited us to come back Monday to see the progress.

So, Monday, we went there as soon as the gallery opened to see John's "Finished Repairs". Karl and John were both there. The four of us hung out and talked. We all looked at Robert Motherwell's that the gallery had in storage.
Karl telling us stories about bars in Japan and his times in Denver!

Then the fire alarm went off. John didn't want to go out into the rain and he could stomach the evil loud fire alarm. Karl, A woman from the gallery, my wife and I had to run out through the back fire stair well. But then the bottom was locked. So we had to find another way out through the clothing boutique around the corner. We said our goodbyes and parted ways in the rain.

It was an incredible time. So, if the Tomato Crew and/or Karl and Rick ever read this:

Thank you so much for a wonderful, truly fantastic time!

-Jason & Amanda!

Re: Beautiful Burnout - Art Jam, New York
P.S. - I have tons of pictures I want to post, but I don't want them out there for the whole Web. Just the Dirties. Anyone have any thoughts were to publish? The Tracker maybe?

Here are my photos from my two stops to the Art Jam along with a few video clips:

Hope you enjoy, and I'd love to see other people's pics (not sure why you wouldn't want to share with "the whole web"). Again, I really enjoyed meeting Mr. Warwicker and I can't wait for more Tomato things and events in the US.

Re: Beautiful Burnout - Art Jam, New York
I've posted some on Flickr. I will play with loading more into the Tracker.
I'm all for sharing with other dirties.
I simply didn't want "others" to get them and use them for something else. Plus there are a bunch with people I don't know and didn't really ask them if they'd mind. Karl and John on the other hand were fine with me snapping away.
