These both say "Why Why Why":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasted:...Volume,_Part_I

However, what you say sounds familiar, and I did find at least one listing that had it listed as "Change". If there are any that say that, I'd lean towards that being an error that was corrected in later pressings.

it is a structurally different mix than the 12:14, not just an early fade. my apologies if this has been mentioned already.
Yes, I believe the 5:16 version that appears on Volume Eight is also structurally different.

Don't have Volume 8 so can't confirm - but just checked the CD for Wasted, and it definitely lists the song as Change on the back of the CD case (don't have the book handy)...

For what it's worth, anyways.

I do have the booklet that came with it and it is mentioned there as "Why Why Why?".
Additional info:

Quote:
Taken from Volume Eight (November 1993)
remix of track from limited promo 12-inch
produced by Underworld
engineered by Steve Dubb at Da Da Studios, Romford
So it was definitely erroneously listed as "Change" on the back of the CD.

Re: [info] -> _underworld_discography_updates_
OK, for Jim Hopkins, to be honest, I'm not sure. Here's some more info on it:

http://www.discogs.com/label/Twitch+Recordings
http://www.discogs.com/release/29345

So, after reading that, I guess it's a DJ mix. However, I had added it to my collection, because it was listed on these discogs:

http://www.lowculture.com/transmissi...rd/disco2.html
http://www.bigscreensatellite.co.uk/tracklistings.htm

Re: [info] -> _underworld_discography_updates_
Well, whaddya know. I threw Minneapolis into a tempo/pitch changer, and sped it up, and it sounds just like the Jim Hopkins "Remix". OK, I'm removing it from my collection now.

Edit: Ack, I can't even stand to listen to it anymore. It sounds like a total bastardization of the original to me now.

Re: [info] -> _underworld_discography_updates_
ok, i agree with all the talk about the
digital releases, yes it should reflect
all formats..

some of the mixes you mentioned
are available on promo cds..

i don't have most of this material,
so thats why there's so much
uncertainty and wrong with it..

well, good that's what we're trying
to fix..

does anybody have the technical
skills for the wiki?

i'm about 2 years behind in internet
years with technology, which means
i'm about 10 years behind in real time
stuff..

no wonder i don't want another
programming job!

Re: [info] -> _underworld_discography_updates_
It looks like there's another edit of Second Hand out there. I saw it listed on Matt's site, but now I've found which album it's on. It's on Euphoria: Chilled.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...g=UTF8&s=music
http://www.discogs.com/release/38233

It says it's 7:47. However, not having heard it, I can't say whether it's an actual unique edit, or if it's just a DJ mix of the 9:01 track. If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably a DJ mix. Does anyone know if the Euphoria series are mix albums?

Oh, and I went back and listened to Second Hand 9:01 again. It's a genuinely different edit, not just a fade-out of Thing in a Book. In fact, it's a lot more down-tempo and ambient than Thing in a Book.
