The thing is, the oil industry operates on a much smaller profit margin than many other companies, especially banking and pharmaceuticals. They spend a hell of a lot getting you the petrol.

It is interesting to take a step back and get a different take on it than what you usually hear. I can't say he's sold me on all his points though. I mean yeah, it's great that the oils companies have created more jobs, but that doesn't change the fact that over $9 billion in quarterly net profits seems excessive when prices are as high as they are at the gas pump. Same with his observation that going by percentages, their profits aren't that unusual. It may only be 9.7%, but that still translates into, again, over $9 billion in net profits.

What the fuck is this thread about? Why on earth are people responding to completly random links inside of a thread about a Senator getting into trouble and some random bitching?

I'll be honest here, of all 6 or so pages, I only found around 5 posts coherent. I would typically just file this under 'troll' but I don' think that is going on here. I think jOHN has legitimate issues, but fuckit if he assumes that we all understand just what he is trying to get across. jOHN, in your next thread, try typing a few paragraphs that get your point across. Then, read it over. Then, reread it and make necessary edits. Then and only then, should you submit the thread. Otherwise, all the bitching you do about us 'getting it' is futile cuz right now, I simply don't get anything in here.
