Re: Aeon Flux movie trailer is up
I dunno -- the only thing less believable than Charlize Theron as an ass-kicking assassin, would be Milla Jovovich as an ass-kicking assassin.

Re: Kong
That might be an aesthetic choice on Jackson's part -- this entire project is a big nostalgia-fest for him, it's a childhood dream, and it seems like he's placing a lot of emphasis on blending...

Re: Just noticed something funny on the ROTS dvd!
You know, in North By Northwest... just as Cary Grant gets "shot" in the lodge restaurant, a little boy behind him can be seen plugging his ears.
Shit like that aggrivates me more than is probably...

Re: I met...
Best celeb meeting I've had recently was Bill Murray. He and his son came in to the restaurant I was working at at the time and, in the middle of being crushed from the busy-ness of the night, I look...

Re: Doom
I'm kind of stumped as to why there's an FPS sequence in a movie. Maybe it's just me, but given that the game looks pretty close to "cinematic realism" already, why I'd want to have less interraction...

Re: Dirty Recommendations
This sounds right up my alley. Thanks for the heads-up.
On the suspense tip, I checked out Hitch's Torn Curtain recently and it surprised me with how atmospheric it was. I'd seen the fight scene...

Re: Doom
Saw The Rock interviewed on The Daily Show and, after all the spoilers he let fly, and considering how entertaining the interview was, I figured that's as close as I'd need to get to seeing the...

Re: Blackalicious- The Craft
This is exactly how I feel. There are standouts for me that I love, but it doesn't span the same ground as Blazing Arrow -- i.e. where are the killer guests on this one? It's much closer to Gab's...

Re: the Ultimate Fighting Championship
I sorta gave up on them once they introduced weight classes and more stringent rules. The playing field stopped being interesting and now everyone's catching up to/surpassing the Gracies.
Outside...

Some fav's:
Sweet Smell of Success - Shakespearean tragedy set against a brassy, jazzed '50s American city. Simply some of the best dialogue ever. Great "acting" in the sense of professional...

It looks pretty fun -- people are starting to out Wes-Anderson, Wes Anderson.

Re: Indie movies are soo much better!
