my uncle has a flag factory. guess i know less of the tech than i thought. he also (i'm pretty sure) pioneered digitally printing onto fabrics so he was able to make full color flags and cost efficient 1 or two off flags without making screens... would be hard to do with t's just cuase of the shape and pre-color, but seems to work well for his business...

anyhow. i'm in, can't do art though

One more taker and the shirts fall into the 24-37 piece price range, a cheap price range which means Scott gets more money per shirt! Come on you stingy ingrates!! :)

[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]yes, i want a dirty shirt, but i'm not sure i want to commit myself to buying it off you at this moment in time, because i have the feeling you're pushing it too hard...
I want a Dirty shirt that comes from the community, dirty.org is Scott's thing, and i feel he should be involved in this.
If that means i have to wait another year, well, so be it :) , i've been member of dirty for 7 and a half years and i survived without the shirt ;)
It would be lovely if we could all wear the same shirt at the next meetings/gigs, but if it's not with a dirty shirt, we'll make our own again. I loved Stimpee's shirt, it looked very professional.
So... since there's no options in your poll to choose to wait and see what Scott says about this, i won't vote.

Re: The time for Dirty Shirts has arrived

That's fine... I'm actually stepping away from this thing until clarification comes down the pipe. I gathered the wrong idea from a prior conversation, that being that it's ok to make Dirty shirts and the like... it was my intention, by stealing the reins, to provide a product that A.) didn't look like junk (like most home made jobs do) and B.) catered to what I thought were the desires of you all, of which some of you have also stolen the reins and made your own Dirty shirts, without recognition or reimbursement to Scott. And point B, having watched how much Scott's toiled over this site for the past 10 years, irks me.

It was only my sole intention to make a product that held the place in a good light, and allowed you guys to spend your money in a channel that led directly back to Scott and co. Had I have wanted to profiteer off this thing, I would've never outlined what percentage Scott was going to get off the sales, or that he would make a profit anyways. But Lou's right, that after realizing that I've moved errantly, to make any further movement would just be plain malicious. And before I get banned off of the site, I'd just like to say that it's great that a whole bunch of you are interested. But it's apparent that there is nothing good that I can do except do nothing or jump when told to jump, and I'm not going to stick mine or my company's neck out until Scott either gives me the work or tells me to fuck off and that he's got it covered.

My apologies... :) For those that were interested in designing something draw it up -- who knows if you'll make the coolest design available and it won't be eventually used at Scott's discretion otherwise.

Edited:

My original post was a rant. (I am always grumpy first thing in the moring 'til I've had at least two pints of tea.) This is more like "ah, whatever". People should do what they want to do. You have plenty of people willing to buy, but Lou is right: unless this is officially stamped it really is no different to making your own, frankly. As I said in another thread, I know you have a crust to earn, but so do we all. Keeping Dirty money within Dirty is all well and good if it is a Dirty-driven enterprise, and that is something you need to iron out with Scott.

Scott! Where are you!? :) Let's get this thing sorted out now once and for all. These threads seem to pop up twice a year, with a lot of people expressing interest in a: owning an official shirt and b: supporting the site with their purchase, and at the same time people offering their professional services to make it happen. I don't see the problem, but if there is one, it would be nice to have some official announcement as to why it's not happening.

1. I'm not on a timeline (obviously)
2. I'm really busy
3. I'm not in need of money to fund this site

Look, some of you in this thread have a penchant for the dramatic when really all I did was send a message to Paul and said "Nobody asked me about this." I think that's reasonable given the fact that it's my site.

If you guys want to make some shirts, make some shirts! All I ask is that if you're going to represent this as if it's an official shirt of our organization that you simply keep me in the loop. I have a PM box.

Ok, well I supposed that's all settled now...

So where were we? :)

Oh yeah -- art. Mail it to producer9k2k5@yahoo.com, and CC it to scott@dirty.org. Thanks!
