The football season doesnt start for another month, but the fantasy football website has been reset and so i've reregistered, picked my initial team and created this years Dirty League.
Code to join this league: 271496-62318
Website: http://fantasy.premierleague.com
I've taken the liberty of emailing a few of you Technique regulars so I'm hoping for more than the 9 people we got last year.
You have 100.0 to spend on a squad of 15 players. Your squad must be made up of 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 forwards with no more than 3 players from any Barclays Premier League club.
Printable list of players is here but its easier from the website because you can sort and filter but here it is: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/playerlist.html
You can pick your team now, and change it as much as you want without penalty before 16 Aug 11:30 BST which is when Gameweek 1 starts.
Good luck, and I wish you all the luck in finishing second behind the mighty Barnstoneworth United! (last year's winners!)

new season, new team. the toonbadgers are no more - i've signed up the mill farm cottagers - not because of a switch of alleigance; just a relocation...

shit. not again.
i've still not recovered from my mid-season top of the table hiatus last year. the slump to lower third was vaguely satisfying.
much like my arsenal. hah!
will have to have a crack on the weekend.
have just joined and i thoroughly expect a relegation battle just like last year........my new team is now FC Wizardsleeve;)

We can't see players till the season starts - but I'm happy to share/show mine - you know - for jolly japes and so you can all laugh at the rugby fella's attempt to pick poofball players.
My current squad - few changes possibly. Will have to do a bit more reading - and we'll see what happens with transfers.
1: Friedel (C) 149
2: Clichy 146
3: Turner
4: Lescott 196
5: Laursen 163
6: Fabregas 205
7: Barry 178
8: Mascherano 76
9: Butt 110
10: Santa Cruz 182
11: Yakubu 137
12: Van der Sar 126
13: Ferdinand 171
14: Dempsey 115
15: Kitson 114
Have got 6 or so top performers from last season, thought about going big guns on the front line with Torres - but decided to split the deal and hopefully get some good value from Santa Cruz, Yakubu and Kitson.
Midfield is decent - hoping Cesc stays fit. Rio, Lescott and Laursen all quality.

I wouldn't take Barry because his duties are going to change if he gets transferred to Liverpool. I see other little... potential hiccups in your plan.
I'm not sure how transfers work in PL sanctioned fantasy, but you have 5 per month and 30 total on Sky Sports. I'm playing both just to see how it goes. I had two dream teams and split them between the two based on which one maximized pricing in each system.

They were both awful. :p
As for Barry, you might be right. And where is Friedel going to be playing?

1. Chelsea can win the quadruple - Scholari said this

you're forgetting:
3. Ronaldo to be staying at Old Trafford (he's been misunderstood all summer)
1. Well he would say that, wouldn't he?
2. Ditto
3. ;)

Chelsea can win the quadruple. Any big four team can, but none of them will.

I was responding to the point that Scolari said Chelsea was capable of winning the PL, CL, CC and FAC.
"We have four competitions this season and I'll try to win all four..." - Scolari
I think Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all capable (because of the talent they have) of winning any of those four but the chances that any one of those teams will win all four is very small. Sorry to be pedantic, I'm not sure what is confusing.
is Keane a good fantasy team member any more or less now that he has moved?

no team has ever won all four before - why does he think he can even try and win all four...
yeah come in and say there are four competitions and try and win in each of them all, but its different saying i will try and will ALL four...
never been done before... and this comes after Chelsea failed to win three of the four last year at the last hurdle...
if any team is capable of winning all four its a team with pedigree and history of winning - and thats not Chelsea...

premiership's fucking bonkers this season - if it goes on this way, there'll be a 15-way dogfight to avoid relegation - i've not seen anything like it.
the only thing that consistent, is the inconsistency, brian...

and the Arse pull another one out of somewhere - but nice to do it against Chelski.
have stopped being excited or depressed - too many random results - but some stunning big game wins.

Just had to use my wildcard. got rid of about 6 players and juggled it all about. I hope it will improve my scores. Finally bit the bullet and got Vidic in defence. Bloody expensive for a defender. Still, ive got cash left over.
Got a dilemma now though. Ireland or Ashley Young in midfield? I've already got Arteta and Ronaldo as permanent midfielders. Both Ireland and Young have 112 points and their form is low. City are playing Liverpool this weekend, and Villa have got Chelsea. Tough choice. I could play em both and drop a forward I suppose, but theyre all on top form.

Matt - you finished strong! after i prodded you a few times to get your team in order you rose up the table and were 5th last week. Finished 7th after a push by by Ian and Rog. Me, I was top of the league all season until April then forgot my team for a few weeks and then Sean was too far ahead to catch him up so i relinquish the championship :(

Yes!
Finish above Nutters, and in 4th - so I qualify for the UEFA cup playoffs. or something.
Second year in a row I didn't take Ronaldo - now I'll never know what it's like. Should I take Lampard in 2010??
