Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
i have been thinking about this alot. Since a lot of the lyrics were inspired/taken from living in NYC. The boys should be playing a "DubNoBass..." show in NYC as well.

What do you all think?

I don't have any of the mixes, but did go digging for a torrent of the stems. PM me if you want an upload of it. I think the original site, etc were all taken down. It's a shame, I loved it too, wish he made a successor to it.

Re: Dubnobasswithmyheadman: 20th Anniversary 5-CD Deluxe Boxset
will be interesting to hear recordings or videos when they play live.

cowgirl decoupled from rez perhaps.

dark and long by itself, instead of dark train for the 1000th time.

no born slippy.

could be very interesting.

Any thoughts on the remastered "Cowgirl" download?

Listening to it now and even on computer speakers, i'm surprised by how many layers i can make out that were formerly buried in the mix. Dang, the drums sound great, it's all very crisp.

I did a small comparison earlier in the thread, but it's just amazing. I've been listening to it a LOT since I got it. Not only are new sounds popping up that were buried before, but old sounds have new life and detail as well. 13 seconds in there's a click at the beginning of that loop that I'd never heard before and that trend just keeps on til the end. Karl's voice is clean and clear and simultaneously separated while blending perfectly with the mix. My favorite is the clapping sound that comes in at 3:01. The texture of that is so crisp and just...so dirty. It's glorious!

I put the .WAV files of both the new remaster and original Dubno record on a blank CD to compare them back to back when I drive around town. The original 1994 recording was pretty good. It holds up well. The best part was 'no bricking'. You could turn it up loud and your ears never got fatigued unlike a lot of today's recordings. But the new stuff is like listening to it for the first time all over again. There's way more separation of the sounds.

It's really remarkable all the new sounds that come to life that was said above. It's on par to The Beatles remasters in my view....(maybe due to Abbey Road).

I can't wait to hear the rest of the work...especially Spoonman and Dirty Epic.
