Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
I just return to listening to the Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, are there any fans of them? Songs like: King Of Stone, Maid Of Orleans, Distance Fades Between Us and Black Sea are all time instrumental classics

I like this old sound a lot

fantastic until they signed with A&M in 84. some fun pop tunes after that. great band. heard the vinyl of Organization absurdly loud in a Vancouver record shop last winter. it was the best OMD experience of my life. so crisp and involving.

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
I grew up with OMD, my father used to listen to it when I was playing with LEGO.
Recently I heard "(Forever) Live And Die" on the radio and I was sold again. Ah the memories I am talking about the poppy stuff though. I have yet to get into their other stuff.

Enola Gay is fucking brilliant.

really liked the early stuff (messages is fucking brill) and the first album.in later years the dope with the bass got on my nerves with his terrible dancing and school teacher wardrobe.

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Always liked the stuff upto 86 and didnt really hear much of a change after the move to A&M. maybe a little bit more poppy but still catchy stuff and the first two albums are brilliant.
