[underworld_remixes] -> _retrospective_commentary_
ok, yeah, we know all about underworlds illustrious past,
or do we? here for those of you, that might not have known, is yet another list.....let's start from the beginning and see what we have....and add as we go along on this retrospective.... sure, there's some discontent about the quality of their mixes now.....wonder why? anyways...here we go.. ======================================== 1st relase.. mother earth / the hump, 1992 ----------------------------------------------------- 12" : 1992 UK (Tomato Record; PLUM 2001) [x500; private pressing by the band] 01. mother earth 7:09 02. mother earth (fm mix)5:43 03. the hump (wild beasts)6:13 04. the hump (groove without a doubt)8:49 mixers: underworld ------------------------------------------- track 1 - album version, nothing new here track 2 - new mix, by underworld, interesting, but is it really that different? average track 3- non album track, pretty interesting, housey, and good beats track 4- remix of track 3, another longer version, once again a housey track, and uses pianos, congas, and nice bass tones, check out the wah-wah guitar =============================================== so what do give it, a B+ for effort, and C for overall execution (i never really cared for 'mother earth').. so much for their first effort.....but it was a start for much more, [Oh, and for those that haven't heard these yet, should we post them somewhere?(low quality or streaming format?????)] thoughts? ================================================= next up : mmm skyscraper I love you, 1993 ================================================= later -1 |
