RIP John Wooden
The man who defined the term "Coach".
http://www.coachwooden.com/ Tributes from all over the place - but a man who redefined college basketball and mentored many of those who became great NBA players. Was always about far more than just the ball and the game - was about being a leader, being disciplined and about being genuine. 99 is a fantastic run.

Re: RIP John Wooden
John Wooden was pretty much the greatest man alive. I'm not exaggerating this, either. My dad actually scrimmaged with the varsity team at UCLA for a time and got to see Wooden coach his players up close and personal.
The guy really cared about his wife and family, though; even though his wife passed in 1985, he still put a handwritten love letter on her pillow on the same day every month. Says it all, really. |
