Re: always loved a film on pete tong
i can't believe this came from silver boots. this track has way more in it, the breakdown, lyrics, everything... wow. silver boots was like 'hey this is a nice groove' but it never went anywhere, and was frankly boring. i dig this, especially the guitar breakdown.

Love it, love it, love it, love it, love it. I'm beginning to realize that after two singles in, I'm anticipating the 'Barking' release more than the 'Beaucoup Fish' release, which is saying alot.

I'm officially, utterly and ridiculously, anticipating this release!

thats what i said this album would be like (like ages ago), more songs, more 80's club style - its superb

and this is the new single according to tongy

can't wait til tonight to hear this live

and i do like scribble - this is WAAAAY better

lyrics, chorus, vocals superb.... sing-a-long tastic

Now. I'll admit that I'll eat up anything by the boys, but I'm really rocking this track. Can't keep my neck from wriggling about willy nilly.

This album can't release soon enough.

Great track. Not sure about the "Heaven" lyric, but Karl has changed it and so he's obviously been thinking about it a bit. If you like the Brixton version, then listen to that instead. If you like Silver Boots then listen to that instead. You have a choice. I'd love to hear an extended remix, or instrumental/dub version.

Re: always loved a film on pete tong
So this is really going to be Underworld's 'pop' album, isn't it?
Yeah, I like this. It's ALAF, I can't imagine them doing a version I wouldn't like, but I'm very happy with this track. With a Lemonworld mix to accompany on the bonus disc... excellent. My interest in Barking has actually returned after the massive disappointment when I saw the initial tracklist.

Re: always loved a film on pete tong
Sounds like ALAF

If you like ALAF then id say this is gold dust....

If you dont like ALAF then its the same ol same ol...

Ill probably skip this track more than scribble when i get the album - saying a lot...

... i just want to hear something intelligent - still trying to work out how it took this long to come up with songs that sound so run of the mill and simple

Re: always loved a film on pete tong
Thanks for the rips, guys!

Well, that sounds massive, even on my little speakers!

Agree that it's much more developed and polished than the ALAF/Silver Boots versions we've heard for so many years. But like YDS--> Scribble, there are the familiar elements, and so much more!

Kind of feel like compiling the various versions of the track and trying to spot what made it through, what went bye. Recall on the UWLive audio page that this was one of the tracks that just never felt finished for the boys. Maybe that's one of the utilities of so many collaborations - let someone else take a stab at it, what'd they'd like to hear in the UW vein.

As for the singing, hmmm, not so sure. Karl's voice is great, i just suppose i prefer the stream-of-consciousness/spoken style a little more. This brings back a bit of UW mki. But the 80's are cool again, i suppose!
