So since my last post about a very sick kitten, life has continued tumultuously. Alcoholic roommates, friends living in the living room and 50+ hour work weeks oh my! Birmingham (the kitten) has healed up wonderfully and continues to be a spunky light about our lives. Most recently, however, a dog has very suddenly and wonderfully joined us! A friend of a friend drove up from California with him not expecting to adopt him out (they'd been trying for a year and a half to no avail) but after we met him it had to happen. Among the many happy circumstances around him was the timing, the fact he's already been microchipped and had all his shots, he's got a solid training base, and that we got him for basically free! The best part? He came to us with the name Ricky.
We've expanded the name a bit. Meet The Welshman Richard David 'We live in a field!' Smith (with a cameo by the SOs hand/arm).
He's got a funky paw as he was likely used as a bait dog by his first owners, but doesn't let that bother him or slow him in the least.
We're incredibly happy to have him with us and are looking forward to many years and adventures with this pup.
