James Holden - DJ Kicks
Another great mix cd from Holden. It's not as danceable as his Balance mix from a couple of years ago, but a more trippy and experimental affair.
more info and review here from Resident Advisor. recommended. oh and try to ignore the atrocious cover photo and design.

Re: James Holden - DJ Kicks
I've had this for a while thanks to the nice PR people, very good mix like. New material on there is sounding good as well.

Re: James Holden - DJ Kicks
honestly... I just CAN'T get into this mix. Like, it's not 'bad' per se...
but it's nowhere nearly as good as the "At The Controls" x2cd but when I listen to his Dj Kicks... I get kinda bored after the first few tracks, and there's only so much 'wobbly' noises you can hear back to back |

Re: James Holden - DJ Kicks
Yeah the Balance mix is awesome still. Haden't heard of the "At The Controls" one before but I'll check that out too.
Btw I saw Walls (one of their tracks features on the DJ-Kicks cd) perform at Lowlands festival recently and they were great. They have an album out on Kompakt which is probably worth looking into. http://www.kompakt.fm/blog/UQGCupQATk05
