Silver Boots (Always loved a film)
I just wanted to say that I hope to god some version of this makes the cut for the new album, or at least some sort of release. I don't think I've gone more than a couple of days without listening to this track since they played it on one of the webcasts. Brilliant tune.

Re: Silver Boots (Always loved a film)
Yeah, that track is good enough to use as the centerpiece of an album, without a doubt. They first web-jammed out an instrumental version and it was so good that I spent a couple of hours cleaning up the quality for my own enjoyment, so to hear the updated version last May with vox was really exciting. I don't care whether they use vox or not, it just has to be on an album.

Re: Silver Boots (Always loved a film)
no i disagree - don't put this on the album, if its gonna see the light of day on a format - stick it on an ep -

i want the album to be full of fresh unheard of jems...

not 2 year old jams...

just my opin though....

Re: Silver Boots (Always loved a film)
honestly - I like the song a lot... but I actually kind of prefer the original, slower version that they played at Electraglide just before they did that John Peel live session

and going on what big screen said... While I would really really want this in 'proper' formatt (or at least high bitrate mp3), I don't think I would be quite as happy if it was put on the next album...

Re: Silver Boots (Always loved a film)
Theres so much stuff UW could put out on an album its impossible to guess what'll be on. Radiohead are still playing with the track Nude that they started in the OK Computer days, so if Silver Boots did come on, it wouldn't surprise me!

Re: Silver Boots (Always loved a film)
Honestly, a big part of what I was saying was that I'd like to hear "Some version" of the tune. To me, the idea that the song would be released unchanged from any of the versions we've heard (after the passage of a significant amount of time) seems a bit absurd. I was just saying I thought they were on a roll with it, and I hope they've kept developing it.

And as far as wanting to hear ONLY new things that we've never heard before, I just don't get it. Was "Mo Move" made any less enjoyable as a track by the fact that we heard a version of the opening arpeggio in the Music Bank video from '01? Or because a kernel of the lyrics were a part of the Spin magazine diaries?
Part of what has made Underworld such a pleasure to watch and listen to over the years has been their willingness to share a bit of the Process with their fans (the general public really. it's not like you have to be a paying fan to see the websites). Maybe it's just because I work in sound design, but I tend to doubt it.
