reissues are only okay with me if:

-they are offered on vinyl. CDs are going out more quickly than i would've expected. the formula for success nowadays is vinyl plus mp3.
back in 2003, dubnobasswithmyheadman, and second toughest
were re-issued on vinyl in the UK.. they were half-speed masters
on heavy vinyl...

the other albums are farily recent, and pretty easy to find..

Sunshine was an entirely different set of circumstances. These albums shouldn't be a problem. Darren gets his residuals. I believe UW own the rights proper to all the albums, seeing as they reissued them all on iTunes the other year. So that would actually make it much easier to do these reissues, if they wanted.

Re: Test Render - dubnobasswithmyheadman boxset (NOT REAL!)

i'm not sure i would want surround sound mixes, although they
would be cool to listen to... how many people actually do?

i think depeche mode and talking heads have tried it with
mixed results..

and wouldn't rebalancing the instruments make it sound like a remix?

i'm not sure where you draw the line.. that would be up the
sound engineer i think..

Re: UW should reissue all the previous albums in the same format as the Barking box
Underworld should definitely reissue all there CDs. I don't particularly care if they are deluxe box sets although, that would be sweet. I would just like to see them re-released so that I would be able to walk into a store and find their albums. I do not particularly care for mp3 downloads. Don't get me wrong, I like mp3s but, I like to own a physical disc as well. With the majority of Underworlds albums being out of print, it makes it very difficult to get their CDs at a reasonable price. I would particularly like to be able to get a copy of "dubnobasswithmyheadman" with the bonus tracks "Rez/Why, Why, Why," but at the moment I would have to shell out a ton of cash if I could even find it for sale.

2 years ago it was quite easy to get the 2cd Dubno for under 20 bucks via HMV.CO.JP. You just had to want it 2 years ago. None of their albums are hard to find. I can get all of them for under 10 bucks here in town. Where do you live?

I live in Poughkeepsie, NY. The only album I have ever seen in the stores in this area is Barking; and I have been keeping an eye out for years.

Wow, I had no idea most of the albums were out-of-print.

Downloads may be the wave of the future, but there will be a solid market for physical releases for years yet, particularly physical releases that include well-crafted packaging and bonus material.
